Website Design FAQs

What is your development Platform?
We use Joomla mainly to develop our websites. Joomla is a FREE Content Management System (CMS) used to build world class websites and powerful web applications. It's ease-of-use and extensiveness have made Joomla the most popular website software available. A CMS is a software that keeps track of all the content of your website. Content can be text, image, video or anything you can think of. A major advantage of using Joomla is that it requires almost no technical skill or knowledge to manage and this enables a client to make changes to his website on his own.

Can I update my website after launch?
The beauty of Joomla is the ease of use it provides. Our website development project includes one hour of Joomla training, so most clients are more than capable of updating their website pages as needed. Since some clients do not want to maintain their own websites, we offer ongoing maintenance.

I’m not sure if anyone can build the quality of website I need. How do I know if you can?
Take a moment and review our website portfolio. We have a specific design style, so you need to make sure what we consider to be beautiful fits within your thinking as well. If it doesn't, do consider us for your project all the same because we'll build your website according to your specification.

There are many reasons clients hire us. Here are eight good ones.

  • Mobile devices compatible websites
Our websites are 100% compatible with mobile devices. Whether it is a phone, tablet or laptop or desktop, your website users will have the same experience in looks, feel and interactivity.

  • We build powerful websites.
If you need a site with all the bells and whistles, contact us. content management system(CMS) integration, video, audio, ios and android integration, e-commerce — no problem.

  • We emphasize simplicity.
Some firms love to build complicated sites. Not us. We choose the simplest tool that will effectively accomplish a task. Simple sites load faster, are easy to use and are less prone to problems.

  • We're affordable.
JoomlaExtended has very low overhead. No fancy office in high brow areas, no snooty receptionist, no latte-sipping sales weasels. Just hard-working Internet professionals chained to their computers. (Just kidding. They're not really chained to their computers. They're chained to their desks.)

  • We are friendly.
Most of our clients have fun working with us. We make the web design process easy and pleasant. We speak in plain English, not technobabble. And we love what we do for a living.

  • We only charge you when we do work for you.
Seems kinda obvious, right? Ask other web developers -- some insist on maintenance contracts that require you to pay them even when you don't need any work on your site.

  • We're honest.
Our business has grown word-of-mouth and we intend to continue growing this way. We'll treat you fairly and do a great job so that you'll want to continue working with us after your site has launched. And, we want you to tell all your friends and colleagues about us.

  • You're the boss.
We'll give you options and the tools and information to make good choices. We'll give you our recommendations, but ultimately, every decision about your website is yours.

How is the cost of a new website determined?
Websites are quoted based on several factors. The cost structure is based on the package selected, the complexity of functionality, the size of the website, and the need for marketing support such as search engine optimization, copywriting, and social media integration. Every project is unique and we try to make sure our pricing is based on your specific needs and not what we think the market will tolerate.

What payment options do you offer?
Company check and direct payment into our bank accounts are accepted. All projects require a down payment of 75% to start.

How long will it take to design and build my new website?
The length of time it takes to create a fully functional website is based on several factors. Custom design work can take anywhere from 1 - 4 weeks, depending on the complexity of the design and the number of revisions you require. The development phase requires an additional 1 - 6 weeks, depending on the number of pages, and the functionality required. Of course, these are general guidelines, and we will make every effort to meet the timeframe you have in mind. Generally, our small scale websites are ready within 2 weeks.

Do you accept every client?
Absolutely not. If the client is not a good fit, the opportunity is not quoted. Creating a new website is a big endeavor, so the website developers and their client need to have synergies for the project to launch successfully. The same is true for customizations of existing templates. If we don't feel that we're a good fit or that Joomla isn't a good fit, we'll quickly tell you so.

Who is an ideal client for JoomlaExtended.com?
Small to mid-market companies that have limited internal marketing resources and/or who need their website to be developed around organic SEO. JoomlaExtended.com differentiates itself from other website design companies by providing website design that is completely integrated with traditional and online marketing best practices. With our all inclusive packages, no design work begins until a full marketing analysis is completed. We relax these rules for our design only projects, but we still want to know everything about you so we can build the perfect website.

I don’t have an internal marketing team, so how can I support the development of a new website?
All-inclusive web design projects include SEO, guidance in the development of the marketing message and content, as well as input of the final website copy. The project is designed around helping clients create an online marketing presence that encourages both targeted traffic and conversions.

What kind of hosting do I need to support my website?
Joomla runs best on a Linux server with PHP 5 capabilities. Most hosting companies will easily support these requirements. If you have any concern on your hosting company’s support options, we are happy to investigate your existing hosting package and provide assistance with new hosting if needed. If shared hosting is enough for you, we're big fans of SpringWebHost.com, that's where all our websites are hosted.

I see you are based in Port-Harcourt, do you just work with local Port-Harcourt-based clients?
We are located in Port Harcourt, but we also have team members located throughout Nigeria. We believe talent is more important than location. Our website design and SEO clients are found inside and outside the city of Port-Harcourt. For instance, we just completed http://eVilla.com.ng for a client in Lagos, while http://AnalythisThis.co is owned by a client in Kaduna. Ironically, we have never met these clients up till now, we were able to work through calls, text messages, emails, and chats. If you need verification, you may check the contact pages on their websites to speak with them. Most clients select us based on past performance and referrals. Few make the selection based on geography only.

Are your websites search engine friendly?
All of our websites are designed around Google’s guidelines for organic SEO. In addition to having a search engine friendly website, we will create a sitemap.xml file and submit it to Google and Bing upon launch. We will also create a 301 redirect file to help the search engines and visitors find the new pages based on the older pages that are already indexed.

Are references available?
Absolutely. There are sample testimonials on our website for review. References can be provided prior to signing contracts. As a courtesy to existing clients and to limit unnecessary phone calls, references are not provided until we are the chosen website developer.

Where can I obtain Joomla training?
We will provide one hour of free training with each of our web design project. Additional hours are available at a fee. In addition, the Joomla community is vast and there are a wide range of books, online tutorials, and classes available to help new users learn Joomla. We have a Joomla eBook written by us that you also purchase. You can see the eBook by clicking here.
